Vinted Shoppers Voice Frustration About Sizing Changes
Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size.
The popular resale platform has altered its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel without notifying every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Reaction
Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with other platforms.
It has advised users to examine their items and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Measurement Approach Updates
Previously, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
User Accounts
A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said.
Manual Updates
Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she said.

The service features exceeding 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
