Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a man who found a vehicle in Hanau marked with reddish liquid

Around 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Officers report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then located numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report initial examinations show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; investigators are currently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the residents for information.

A high-ranking representative stated the attack left him without words and needed to be solved rapidly.

"This incident affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
